Robin Hambro has always had an interest in art. She started this journey with a collection of painted furniture for the well known French interior designers Jansen. She designed, created and sold a jewelry collection for Hennells of Bond Street, London. Her exposure to art of all types was not only in university, but also in various jobs she has held. Christies Fine Art Auctioneers and currently an art advisory company. Positions on the boards of the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge and the National Gallery London all let her to intensify her desire to paint. She then studied with Paul Gildea and Francis Pratt. She has had several exhibitions both group and individual and her paintings are held in collections in the UK, the US and Europe.
Her inspirations come mainly from her dreams which often produce surreal images. Her paintings are in vivid colors, often naive in content. Working in acrylics, watercolors and oils, her colorful pictures and subject give a sense of joy and exuberance.
